The project “WIN – Trafficked Women Integration” started in Autumn 2019 under the European Union’s AMIF-Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund program, to sustain the socio-economic integration of women victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation and to prevent re-trafficking abuse.
“WIN – Trafficked Women Integration” is carried out by a consortium of five organisations from Italy, Spain and Bulgaria with different backgrounds and experiences We all share the same understanding that trafficking in human beings (THB) is a severe violation of human rights and that our society has to be involved in providing opportunities to vistims in their new Countries. Among them, migrant women victims of trafficking deserve specific support and protection, due to the forms of abuse and exploitation they undergo

Presentation
OUR GOAL
Our general objective is to improve the socio-economic integration of third country-national women victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation in the host societies, as a long-lasting solution to prevent re-trafficking and abuse.
WHAT WE DO
We organize vocational training and language courses for trafficked women, as well as offer them job placement services and facilitate their access to the labour market. We also provide provide social, psychological and legal support in addition to soft skills education, organize cultural mediation and translation services.
We exchange experiences, information and best practices regarding the socioeconomic integration of victims of trafficking among EU States. Furthermore, we define common guidelines, methodologies and practical tools to integrate migrant women victims of trafficking in Bulgarian, Italian and Spansish societies.
We carry out awareness-raising activities about Traffiking of Human Beings (THB), targeting the business community, trade unions, professional associations and training and job services providers. Moreover, we reach out to civil society organisations, migration and asylum institutions, human rights and women’s rights organisations, policy makers and the general public.
WHY THE WIN PROJECT IS NEEDED
Women and girls are most vulnerable to THB, representing 68% of the registered victims. They also represent the majority of victims of sexual exploitation. 56% of the THB victims in the EU are third country nationals.
There are significant barriers to the socio-economic integration of third country national female victims of THB, such as residence insecurity, psychological trauma, language barriers, a lack of previous work experience, strong cultural and religious stereotypes against women, prejudice against both victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation and third country nationals.
If not effectively supported, migrant women are vulnerable to participation in informal labour sectors which are excluded from existing regulations. If not provided with legal labour opportunities migrant women are highly vulnerable to human trafficking, re-trafficking and exploitation in domestic work, care services, sex industry or other non regulated sectors. Financial autonomy empowers women to establish control over their lives.
